The nearest airport is Durham Tees Valley (known locally by its old name Teesside). From here you can take a bus or taxi to Darlington Station and catch a train to the local area. Alternatively hire a car, or take a taxi to your destination.

• A taxi to Darlington Station costs approximately £10.00.
• A regular bus service runs between both Darlington and Middlesbrough.
• Service 74 will take you to Darlington.
• Service 20 will take you to Middlesbrough.
• From Darlington you can pick up a train to Saltburn or Whitby.
• For Whitby change at Middlesbrough.
• If you go by coach to Middlesbrough change coaches, at Middlesbrough Bus Station on to the X56.
• If you go by train to Whitby or Saltburn on arriving at these destinations follow the instructions in the bus and coach section.
• By car take the A67 through Eaglescliffe and Yarm to the A1045 and follow the signs to the A174.
• On the A174 follow the signs for Saltburn then Brotton and Loftus, remain on this road until you arrive at Staithes.
• From here follow the directions from the by road section.
