Coble Cottage

Sleeping 4 to 8 and priced accordingly, Coble cottage is situated directly opposite Captain Cook's childhood home, this detached, 18th-century Grade II listed fisherman's cottage lies on the sea front, just 50 yards from the wonderful beach, enjoying sea and harbour views. Antique oak furniture, an inglenook fireplace and original beamed ceilings give Coble Cottage a charm of its own.

Staithes is an undiscovered gem, with Egon Ronay's famous Endeavour Restaurant only 100 yards away. The Cleveland Way passes the cottage, and the North York Moors offers stunning walks. Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Whitby (10 miles). Pub 50 yards. Spacious living/dining-room with feature electric `wood burner' and antique dining table (seats 8). Compact, fitted kitchen.

Cliff Cottage

This charming fisherman's cottage (sleeping 4) is set at the top of a street leading up from the harbour. The Cleveland Way passes by the cottage and there are many lovely clifftop walks in the area and the whole of the North York Moors and coast are within easy driving distance.

With views across a pretty garden and an attractive secluded valley, ideal for those interested in wild life. Shops 250 yards; pub 100 yards, beach 100 yards.

Ground floor: Lounge, dining kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 single (for alternative sleeping only). Second floor: 1 twin bedroom, bathroom with elec shower over bath, toilet & basin. Utility outhouse with washing facilities, Belfast sink and toilet.

To be cautious and sensitive to needs, I will say that this is a true old "cottage" in a rugged coastal location and consequently is for the more adventurous and active person due to the two flights of stairs and hills entering and leaving the village.
