Jet Coast Development Trust and partners have been developing an archaeological project to try and locate the site of the Anglo Saxon Seton Church, in a field midway between Staithes and Hinderwell.

The supposed site is marked on mid 19th century maps but has never been investigated or recorded properly

Parking Permits

Parking permits for between 2 and 7 days can be purchased from the Gateway Centre prior to your arrival. These cost £5 per day and are valid for parking in any Scarborough Borough Council long stay car park. This has the advantage of you not having to look for change every day. It also saves you the walk up the hill if you are not going out for the day.

If you wish to purchase one we would require to know your date, time of arrival and length of stay. (e.g. If you are arriving on the Saturday at 4pm your permit would run from 4pm on the day of arrival until 4pm on the day of departure. If you are arriving after 6pm your permit would start at 9am the following morning so the permit would finish at 9am on your day of departure.)

A cheque payable to 'Scarborough Borough Council' for the number of days you wish to stay should accompany the above information. Please allow us plenty of time (i.e. at least 1 week) to send the permit out to you.
 
 
Scooter Hire

We are able to offer mobility scooter hire to both visitors and locals.

Full instructions will be given to anyone wishing to use this facility. As we have only two scooters advance booking would be advisable.
